The ongoing efforts of this working group aim to generate discussion and address the challenges facing pharmacovigilance in low-resource settings, in particular relation to COVID-19 vaccination in children and pregnancy. Over 250 researchers, regulators, healthcare workers and industry professionals from across the globe have come together in this group to share ideas, form collaborations, and develop and disseminate materials and resources that others can use for free.

Following Global Pharmacovigilance's consensus-building research on the priorities for pharmacovigilance in LMICs during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2 working groups formed to explore issues surrounding:
Virtual meetings of these two working groups began in Apr 2022. As a result of similar outputs from each of these group's intial discussions, and a large overlap in group membership, in June 2022 it was agreed to merge these two groups to focus and strenghten ongoing activities. As a result, the Safety of COVID-19 Vaccination in Children and Pregnancy in LMICs Working Group held its first meeting on 29th June 2022.
